Itinerary:
Day 1: Xining – Shachung (Xiaqiong) Monastery – Repkong (Tongren) [2480m]
Start the day by driving from Xining to Shachung Monastery, situated on a mountaintop, offering a magnificent view of the Yellow River. Continue the journey to Repkong, renowned for its three grand Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and renowned artists. Enjoy scenic views of the Yellow River along the way. In Rebkong, visiting Rongwu Monastery, the largest monastery in Repkong, housing over 500 monks. Explore the monks’ workshop at Sanggeshung artist village. Then, proceed to Gomar Monastery to admire the colossal Chorten (stupa).

Day 3: Repkong – Gangya Grassland – Labrang (Xiahe) [2900m]
Today, we start with a captivating journey through the renowned Gangya grassland, where yaks and sheep peacefully graze and unwind amidst a colorful carpet of blooming flowers, as we make our way to Labrang. Once we arrive Xiahe town, we will visit Labrang Monastery guided by local monk. Labrang Monastery is the one of the most renowned monastery in Tibet, is nestled in the charming town of Xiahe. Situated at an altitude of 2900m, Labrang is surrounded by lofty mountains. It serves as a significant pilgrimage destination for Tibetans, housing over 1700 monks today.

Day 4: Labrang – Langmusi (Taktsang Lhamo) [3100m]
Travel from Labrang to the picturesque Tibetan town of Langmusi. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the grasslands, which are home to nomadic Tibetans. Visit Lhamo Monastery, an 18th-century structure accommodating around 100 monks. Take a leisurely stroll through the blooming plateau flowers on the grassland.

Day 5: Langmusi – Dzoige – Hongyuan – Markang [2633m]
Venture towards the nomad trading towns of Dzoige and Hongyuan, catching a glimpse of the first bend of the Yellow River. Along the way, witness the captivating sight of Tibetan herders tending to their yaks and sheep.

Day 7: Markang – Danba [1935m]
Discover the beauty of Danba, a region known for its breathtaking scenery and distinctive culture. Explore the town dominated by Tibetan and Qiang minorities, and marvel at ancient castles, watchtowers, as well as Tibetan-style Gyarong and Qiang stone houses. Alternatively, ascend a mountaintop to visit a hidden monastery.
Day 8: Danba – Qingchengshan Taoism Temple [1260m]
Embark on a journey to Qingchengshan Temple, situated atop a misty mountain approximately 60km away from Chengdu. This ancient Taoist site is surrounded by lush greenery and exudes tranquility. Take in the numerous Daoist temples and sites as you hike towards the peak.
Day 9: Qingchengshan – Chengdu or Chengdu Shuangliu Airport [500m]
In the morning, witness the Taoist Temple monks practicing Tai Chi with their masters and feel free to join them. Explore the area at your own pace or prepare for your journey back home.
