Ngari, or far western Tibet, is the most remote region of the Tibetan plateau and one of the most powerful pilgrimage landscapes in Asia. This high-altitude region is home to Mount Kailash, Lake Manasarovar, the ruins of the Guge Kingdom, Tholing Monastery, Tirthapuri, Burang, Dungkar and Piyang, and sacred Himalayan views around Gurla Mandhata.
