Namtso Lake is located 250km north of Lhasa at the east end of Changtang Plateau.
Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in the morning around 07:30. Then we will drive north into some valleys about 2 hours to reach the Natural Hotspring Zone of Yangpachen. Afterwards, we continue drive up to the Nagen –la pass which is over 5000m above sea level, finally we descend to the Namtso Lake. This beautiful turquoise lake, which is considered holy by Tibetans, is the highest saltwater lake in the world. It is surrounded by snowy mountains, and nomads camp here in the summer. While it is a popular place to visit in the summer, there are ways of making the trip unique — for example, take a short hike up a nearby mountain for a great view, challenge the nomads to a game of pool, and get a picture riding a yak. In the afternoon we will drive you back to Lhasa and drop you off in your hotel.
