Mount Kailash Kora Closure — September 26, 2026
The Mount Kailash kora route has been closed since September 25 due to heavy snowfall. Trekkers and pilgrims are currently unable to travel from Darchen through Dirapuk, Dolma La Pass and Zutulpuk, or complete the return to Darchen. Vehicle travel in and around Darchen, including trips to Lake Manasarovar, is also suspended.
Snow has fallen continuously for the past two days and is still falling. Local authorities have not announced a reopening date for the kora route. Based on current conditions, it appears unlikely to reopen within the next four to five days, though the closure may last longer. We will share further updates as soon as they become available.
