Dear Tibet Travelers,
June 29th, Tibet Tourism Bureau and Shegar Authorities issued an announcement of reopening Mt. Everest Base Camp. The announcement states that all the travelers will be able to access to Mt. Everest Base Camp since July 1st, 2015. The alien permits to visit Mt. Everest will be issued since then. However, due to the road condition and sake of travelers safety, the road to Mt. Everest only opens 4 hours per day( 2 hours in the very earlier in the morning and 2 hours at night).
If you travel from Lhasa to Mt. Everest Base Camp, you have to return back to Lhasa. The road from Lhasa to Nepal border is still closed since Nepal Earthquake.
Note: Mt. Everest climbing activities are still remain closed and no permit will be issued for climbers any time soon.
